BLACK FAMILY DAY
National Black Family Day activities were to focus on the needs of children worldwide with special attention to the needs of children in Africa through Jack and Jill’s partnership with Africare.
FATHERS APPRECIATION DAY
Although, membership in Jack and Jill is limited to invited mothers, it is important that our children have many opportunities to learn from male role models. Today fathers serve as mentors, fundraisers and chaperones none as “POPS” or parents-on-patrol.
National day of fitness
The Jack and Jill National Fitness Day is a nationwide event where every chapter across the country participates in a fun and exciting fitness extravaganza where our families, and the communities we serve come together and celebrate fitness.
JAck and Jill Day
Each September chapters of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. from across the nation host Jack and Jill Day celebrations. The vision was that this day would be a family round-up time. Overall, the purpose is to promote membership growth and camaraderie.
CarolE ROBERTSON DAY
At the Jack and Jill National Convention in San Francisco, it was decided by resolution that all chapters would honor Carole Robertson in September with an activity that would highlight the goals of human rights, civil rights and racial harmony that Carole did not live to enjoy.
Teen conference
The Baltimore chapter was honored to host The 69th annual Easter Region Teen conference, with the theme “Black by Popular Demand.” The purpose of the Teen Conference is to create a forum that enables Jack and Jill Teens to engage in leadership development activities, including educational, cultural, recreational and philanthropic programs created for and by the Teens of the Eastern Region.
MLK Day OF SERVICE
Taking place each year on the third Monday in January, the MLK Day of Service is the only federal holiday observed as a national day of service – a “day on, not a day off”. In honor of Dr. King’s legacy, Jack and Jill encourages its members and families to support volunteer efforts in their communities.
